Slowly but surely, the ceiling in the Anywhere Office can start to fall on your head - to prevent this, we want to give you a few tips here.
It is currently more important than ever to work from home and avoid going to the office. Unfortunately, you can't maintain your usual social contacts from home the way you would like to. In addition, the dull weather and the monotonous days can get on your nerves. We want to counteract this and brighten up your everyday life. We've come up with a few Anywhere Office "hacks" that will help you to bring a little pep back into your dreary everyday life.
The lack of daily encounters in the coffee kitchen or in the corridor is noticeable in the Anywhere Office. Personal, private exchanges with colleagues in particular are often neglected. That's a shame, of course! How about a regular coffee break in the team? Take the initiative and set up a time for you and your colleagues to have a virtual coffee break. Perhaps this will develop into a routine.
Daily leisure activities are also severely restricted due to the current regulations. Meeting up for a beer after work or going out for a meal together is currently not possible? Yes, it is! How about an after-work drink in good company? Open your laptop, turn on your camera and enjoy a cozy get-together with colleagues or friends via Teams, Zoom or Skype.
One of the most important things in the Anywhere Office is a comfortable chair. But a change of position can certainly bring a breath of fresh air to your working day. Swap your office chair for an exercise ball! This allows you to relax and exercise at the same time. Temporarily working standing up is also good for body and mind. If you don't have a height-adjustable desk, you can also use an ironing board.
The transition between work and private life often merges in the home office. Even if it's difficult, you should stick to your working hours. Avoid being "always available", switch off your PC after work and enjoy the evening! If possible, don't download any work tools or apps to your personal smartphone or switch off push notifications after work.
In the Anywhere Office, you may not have to set foot outside the door on certain days. However, you should avoid this. Keep fit with a regular walk in the fresh air. You should also drink plenty of fluids, as this can be forgotten during a long working day in front of your laptop. Set yourself achievable goals. How about at least two liters of water or 10,000 steps a day, for example?
